7. American Releases. America got its first taste of The Beatles' version of "Matchbox" a month after Britain heard it. The British EP "Long Tall Sally" was released on June 19th while the Capitol album "Something New," which contained the song, arrived on July 20th, This album was released on compact disc on January 21st, , with both the mono and stereo mixes contained on one CD.
