1. The "live" album formula has been diluted over the years into chopped-up and lifeless collections of hits, but Made In Japan remains a pure "live" experience, and a record that, 39 years on (it's as I write) is still regarded by many, and by me, as the finest of the genre/5(1K).

3. The best Deep Purple Album by a mile. Deep Purple are not a band that i associate with a great back catalogue. I have always preferred Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin to Deep Purple and Rainbow Rising is easily the highlight of Ritchie Blackmore's career. HOWEVER for three albums Deep Purple were very very special. In Rock, Machine Head and Made in /5(1K).

Made in Japan is a double live album by English rock band Deep Purple, recorded during their first tour of Japan in August It was originally released in December , with a US release in April , and became a commercial and critical success. The band were well known for their strong stage act, and had privately recorded several shows, or broadcast them on radio, but were Genre: Hard rock, heavy metal.
